Privacy Policy
Effective: June 1, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how Tendou LLC ("we," "us") collects, uses, shares, and retains your personal information when you use seven.wiki (the "Service"), and the rights you have.
Where local law in your region requires additional disclosures, a region-specific notice may supplement this Policy and prevails in case of conflict for users in that region.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information You Provide
- Account information: username, email address, password (stored as a hash), optional profile fields, and self-attestation that you meet the minimum age (see Section 7).
- Content: articles, edits, comments, votes, messages, files you submit.
- Payment information (for Paid Services): name, billing address, last four digits of payment card. Full card numbers are handled by our payment processor and not stored by us.
- Communications: messages you send us, including support requests, appeals, and reports.
1.2 Information We Collect Automatically
- Activity: pages viewed, edits and contributions, search queries, content interactions, features used, time and duration of visits.
- Device and connection: device type, operating system, browser, language, time zone, IP address, approximate location derived from IP, crash and performance logs.
- Cookies and similar technologies.
- Behavioral signals used for security, bot detection, and spam prevention (e.g., mouse movement patterns, session tokens).
1.3 Information from Third Parties
- Identity providers: if you sign in with a third-party provider, we receive the information you authorize that provider to share (typically account identifier, email, display name).
- Advertising and measurement partners: where we use advertising, partners may share advertising identifiers, conversion events, and audience attributes, subject to your settings.
- Payment processors: transaction confirmations and limited card metadata.
- Other sources: publicly available sources, anti-abuse signals shared by industry peers, and information from law enforcement where lawful.
1.4 Information with Special Protections
Information revealing racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religious or philosophical beliefs, trade union membership, genetic or biometric data, health, sex life, or sexual orientation may have special protections under your local law.
We do not require you to provide such information to use the Service. We do not infer such categories from your activity for advertising purposes. If you choose to provide such information (for example, in a profile field or in content you contribute), we process it only as necessary to provide the Service and, where required, with your explicit consent.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide the Service: authenticate you, operate your account, display content and search results, enable community features, process payments, provide support.
- To improve the Service: diagnose problems, conduct research and testing, develop new features.
- For safety, security, and integrity: detect and respond to abuse, fraud, spam, copyright infringement, and other harmful activity; verify accounts; enforce our Terms; comply with law.
- To communicate with you: service announcements, security alerts, policy updates, support responses, and — where you have consented or where permitted by law — marketing about the Service.
- For advertising (where applicable): show and measure ads via networks such as Google AdSense. You may choose between personalized ads (based on your inferred interests and activity) and non-personalized ads in your settings. We do not use special-category sensitive information to personalize ads.
- For AI and machine learning: aggregated and de-identified data may be used to improve search, recommendation, and moderation. Publicly available content may be used consistent with its license (Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International). We do not use private messages or non-public content to train AI models without explicit consent.
Legal Bases (Where Applicable)
Where local law requires a stated legal basis, we rely on performance of a contract, legitimate interests, your consent, legal obligation, or, rarely, vital interests. You may withdraw consent at any time without affecting prior processing.
3. How We Share Information
We share information only as follows:
- Service providers that process information on our behalf under contractual confidentiality and security obligations, including hosting, content delivery, analytics (e.g., Google Analytics), email delivery, customer support, fraud prevention, and payment processing (e.g., Stripe).
- Advertising partners. Where the Service displays ads (e.g., via Google AdSense), advertising partners receive limited information such as IP address, cookie identifiers, and ad event data to serve and measure ads. If you have enabled personalized advertising, this may include behavioral signals and advertising identifiers. You can opt out of personalized advertising in your settings, in which case non-personalized ads will be shown instead.
- Independent controllers for creator payouts. If you receive revenue from the Service (e.g., subscriptions, tips, or paid content), our payment processor (e.g., Stripe Connect) collects your identity, tax, and bank information directly and acts as an independent controller of that information. Their handling is governed by their own privacy policy.
- Identity providers and integrations when you use third-party login or other integration features.
- Legal disclosures in response to valid legal requests, to protect rights, property, or safety, to investigate fraud or abuse, or to enforce our Terms.
- Business transfers in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of assets.
- With your consent or at your direction.
- Public content. Content you contribute is, by default, public, including your username, edit history, and profile information. It may be archived, mirrored, indexed by search engines, and reused under Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International.
We do not sell your personal information.
A region-specific notice, where applicable, may list specific recipients in more detail.
4. International Transfers
We operate globally. Your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in countries other than the country in which you reside, including the United States and other jurisdictions where we or our service providers maintain infrastructure.
We safeguard such transfers using:
- Standard Contractual Clauses approved by competent authorities;
- Adequacy decisions, where applicable;
- Other equivalent mechanisms required by applicable law.
Where required by local law, a region-specific notice provides additional information about recipients, destination countries, items transferred, and your rights.
5. Retention
We keep your information only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, including to:
- operate your account and provide the Service;
- maintain the integrity of the Service's edit history;
- comply with legal obligations (tax, accounting, legal hold);
- resolve disputes and enforce our Terms.
When information is no longer needed, we delete or anonymize it. Public content may be retained indefinitely as part of the historical record, subject to applicable deletion rights.
6. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to, port, or suspend processing of your personal information, or to withdraw consent.
To exercise these rights, use the in-app tools or contact privacy@seven.wiki. We respond within the period required by applicable law. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling a request. We do not discriminate against users who exercise their privacy rights.
7. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 14, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 14 without verifiable parental consent. Additional protections may apply under your local law.
8. Security
We implement administrative, technical, and physical safeguards, including encryption in transit, hashed credentials, access controls, logging, monitoring, and periodic assessments. No system is perfectly secure. If we become aware of a breach affecting your information, we will notify you and authorities as required by law.
9. Automated Decision-Making
We use automated systems for spam, abuse, and fraud detection, search ranking, content recommendation, and account risk scoring. Where an automated decision produces significant effects (e.g., account termination), you may request human review at contact@seven.wiki.
10. Changes
We may update this Policy. We will provide notice consistent with applicable law, typically by posting the updated Policy with a new Effective Date and, where appropriate, by in-app or email notice. For material changes affecting your rights, we will provide reasonable advance notice.
